This stamp and coin cover features two coins released by the Royal Australian Mint and the Perth Mint.
Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, The Perth Mints' coin is struck from aluminium bronze and The Royal Australian Mints' coin is struck from Copper Nickel. Both coins are uncirculated.
They are housed in a beautifully designed card that fits inside a similarly illustrated envelope with the stamps affixed and with circular windows revealing both coin’s reverse and obverse designs.
The Perth Mint’s coin features elements from the original banknote, the title 100th ANNIVERSARY, FIRST BANKNOTE OF AUSTRALIA and the dates 1913-2013.
The Royal Australian Mint’s coin reverse features elements from the original banknote and the title CENTENARY OF AUSTRALIAN BANKNOTES.
Affixed to the envelope are two official Australia Post stamps. The 60c stamp depicts the numbering ceremony in 1913 and the $2.60 stamp depicts the Australian Coat of Arms as it appears on the first banknote. The stamp is postmarked for the first day of issue and the envelope includes Australia Post’s Seal of Authenticity and official number.
